Election Day: June 5, 2018

Absentee Voting
Applications for absentee ballots may be obtained from the Curry County Clerk’s Office. Absentee by mail and Absentee In-person begins May 8, 2018. An Absentee Ballot Application may be requested in-person or by phone (575) 763-5591. In order to receive an absentee ballot by mail, application must be completed and accepted by the County Clerk prior to 5:00pm on June 1, 2018.

Absentee ballots may be marked in-person at the Curry County Administrative Complex during the hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, from May 8, 2018 through June 1, 2018. Absentee in-person voting will also be open at this location on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 10:00am-6:00pm.

Early Voting
Early voting will be available at the North Plains Mall – Police Substation (2809 N Prince St) from 10:00am to 6:00pm, Tuesday through Saturday, from May 19, 2018 through June 2, 2018.

Election Day Voting
On Primary Election Day, June 5, 2018, voters will be able to cast their ballot at ANY of the polling locations, also known as voting convenience centers. Voting Convenience Center locations on Election Day will be open from 7:00am to 7:00pm and will include:

Colonial Golf Course, 1300 Colonial Parkway, Clovis, NM
Youth Recreation Building (YRB), 1504 E 7th Street, Clovis, NM
Roy Walker Community Center, 316 W 2nd Street, Clovis, NM
Farmer’s Electric Cooperative, 3701 N Thornton Street, Clovis, NM
Pleasant Hill Fire Department, 304 SR 77, Texico, NM
Grady Senior Citizens Center, 104 W Main, Grady, NM
Melrose City Hall, 105 E. Avenue B, Melrose, NM
Texico Community Building, 215 N. Griffin, Texico, NM

Election Results
As soon as possible, following the close of polling locations at 7:00pm on Election Day, unofficial results will be listed on this web page and posted outside the Curry County Clerk’s Office. The June 5, 2018 unofficial primary election results are currently scheduled to be canvassed and certified as official on June 8, 2018.

Voter Registration
In Primary Elections, you must be affiliated with one of the major political parties to be eligible to vote. If you are affiliated with a Minor Party or Declined to State, you are not eligible to vote in the Primary Election. Everyone who is registered to vote is eligible to vote in the General Election and can vote for anyone of their choosing, within their districts. In other elections, those being schools, city, etc., you may or may not be able to vote for any candidate depending on the district in which you live and are registered to vote. You should always contact the County Clerk’s Office if you have any questions regarding eligibility.

Curry County residents who wish to vote in the June 5, 2018 Primary Election, but wish to update their voter registration, or are not already registered, must register with the Curry County Clerk’s Office before 5:00pm on May 8, 2018. You can register and update your registration information online via the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office, in person at the Curry County Clerk’s Office, or by requesting a Voter Registration Application by mail at 575-763-5591.
