Resolution 2019-31: Recognizing Curry County Employee and Supervisor of the Year

RESOLUTION #2019-31

RECOGNIZING CURRY COUNTY EMPLOYEE AND SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR

 

WHEREAS, there are 33 Counties in the State of New Mexico, each of which provides multiple services to its citizens; and,

WHEREAS, Curry County and the Board of Curry County Commissioners work hard to maintain approximately 1342 miles of County Roads for its citizens, operates the County Adult and Juvenile Detention Centers, Grant Programs, maintains numerous properties including the Courthouse, Fairgrounds, Administrative Complex, Road Barns, Fire Departments and provides Law Enforcement through the Sheriff’s Department and administrative services through the Assessor’s, Clerk’s, Treasurer’s and County Manager’s Offices; and,

WHEREAS, Curry County has adopted a Personal Policy that sets forth and establishes criteria and conditions for employment for all County employees; and,

WHEREAS, Curry County has recognized Employees and Supervisors that provide services to the Public above and beyond what is required.   

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that each calendar year from this point forward, during the month of February, if qualified Employees are nominated and selected, the Board of County Commissioners shall recognize one (1) Employee of the year and one (1) Supervisor of the year as may be nominated and as selected by a Committee of County Officials. The criteria for these awards will include at least one (1) full year of service with the County as of December 15th of that year and the selection will be based on work-related performance and commitment to Curry County.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each year, commencing with the 2018 Recipients, the Employee of the Year and Supervisor of the Year shall be entitled to one (1) eight (8) hour work day off with pay with the stipulation that it must be used/taken before the end of the calendar year or it will be forfeited. If the Employee or Supervisor leaves Curry County employment or separates from service with the County prior to utilizing he/she will not be compensated for said day upon separation. They shall each also receive a $50.00 gift certificate to a Restaurant in Clovis of their choice, be given a plaque reflecting the accomplishment, and their name will be added to a plaque to be erected at 417 Gidding Street showing the year of their selection.
