Red Ribbon Week is Underway in Curry County

“Red Ribbon Week gives us the opportunity to be vocal and visible in our efforts to achieve a drug-free community,” said Shelley Meeks, Curry County Preventionist. “Research shows that children are less likely to use alcohol and other drugs when parents and other role models are clear and consistent in their opposition to drug use and the misuse of prescription drugs.” Through partnerships between the Curry County DWI Task Force, local law enforcement agencies, the Curry County Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (OSAP), County School Districts, Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis Main Street, and countless other community stakeholders multiple events are taking place until October 31.

All businesses are invited to participate in the decorating contest. Decorate your front office, window or door using the 2019 theme “Send A Message. Stay Drug Free.” To enter post a photo of on Facebook during Red Ribbon Week. Use hashtags #CurryRRW, #RRW2019, #sendamessage, #staydrugfree.
