Ranchvale Fire Department Receives Grant Funding

The Ranchvale Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded grant funding in the amount of $$27,804.85 from the New Mexico Fire Protection Grant. The statewide grant program funds various fire department projects throughout New Mexico.  The grant funds will be used to establish a dedicated water supply for firefighting operations in the form of a 30,000-gallon water storage tank.  The storage tank will be installed at the new Ranchvale fire station, which is currently under construction in the Ranchvale community.

Over 120 grant applications were submitted statewide, totaling over $23 million in needs, while $10.7 million were available for distribution – “Curry County is very appreciative for the much needed funding to benefit the Ranchvale community and department,” said County Manger Lance Pyle.

Further information can be obtained by calling 575-763-6016, extension 117.
