New Mexico Community Survey

CLOVIS, NM – The Standing Together Equals Prevention (STEP) Coalition for Curry County Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (OSAP), your local drug prevention program, is working to collect the New Mexico Community Survey (NMCS) on behalf of the New Mexico Behavioral Health Services Division and the Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (OSAP).

The NMCS measures the community’s perceptions of and experiences with substance use and misuse. The more Curry County, NM residents who complete the survey, the better OSAP can respond to the problems and areas of most concern.

The NMCS is completely anonymous, voluntary, targets all residents 18 years of age or older and is bilingual. To promote social distancing, the survey can be completed online at After completion of the survey participants can enter to win a weekly drawing for $100 cash card.

NMCS supports community programs such as the DWI program. “The data collected from the NMCS gives us a clearer picture of what our community needs. All New Mexico residents in Curry County should take the survey, so the information collected is fully representative of our community. Every voice is essential to our understanding of what is most beneficial for our residents.” says Shelley Meeks, DWI Program Coordinator for the Curry County.

For more information about the OSAP coalition and program, please contact the OSAP Program Manager, Tanya Henderson at 575-763-7725 ext. 164 or email at
