Resolution 2019-19 Requesting Support for New Mexico Border
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING SUPPORT FOR NEW MEXICO BORDER
WHEREAS, New Mexico has 33 Counties with three bordering Mexico; and,
WHEREAS, New Mexico having approximately 210 miles of border with Mexico and, is one of four States that borders Mexico directly; and,
WHEREAS, border security is a concern for the residents, farmers, ranchers and business owners along that border, as well as New Mexico and our Nation as a whole.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Curry County Commissioners support border security, and request the State of New Mexico and the Federal Government provide support and assistance both financially and with man power to address the security of the New Mexico border with Mexico.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Manager is to send a copy of this Resolution to Senator Martin Heinrich, Senator Tom Udall, Congressman Ben Ray Lujan, Secretary of Defense Heather Wilson, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, State Senator Stuart Ingle, State Senator Pat Woods, State Representative Randal S. Crowder, State Representative Martin Zamora, and State Representative Jack Chatfield.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 19th day of February, 2019 by the Board of Curry County Commissioners, in an open meeting, in Clovis, NM.
